End of ISDN and PSTN Lines

Blog Details

Vintage Phone

In 2025 ISDN (ISDN2 & ISDN30) and analogue (traditional POTS) will be phased out so all businesses and consumers will need to move to digital lines. Many businesses have already started to address the ISDN phase out by switching to VOIP and SIP technologies but ADSL and VDSL lines still use a POTS line for their circuit.

We are now advising businesses to switch to either SOGEA, G.FAST or FTTP lines. These as well as being digital have many advantages:-

  • No line rental
  • G.FAST and FTTP have must faster speeds

If you are using an analogue phone line for your business you should contact us to move to a new broadband product and we can provide a Hosted Talk phone system. As well as being future proof it offers a lot more flexibility over analogue lines as you can be connected to the phone number when you are away from your business via a mobile application.

If you are using faxes we recommend converting to a fax to email service but we see fewer businesses using faxes these days.

Your alarm system may also be using a red care line to to send alerts and these would need to be either internet or cellular (SMS)

If you would like an free no obligation review of your telecoms please get in touch with us.
